Moving back to Western New York means working with new dog sports clubs. While I love traveling back West to photograph Fast CAT events, it is definitely easier to work with clubs local to the East Coast.

The June DOTCORNY (Dog Obedience Club of Rochester New York) Fast CAT trial was my first opportunity to work with a club here on the East Coast. And how convenient that it was only 15 minutes from my house!

Western New York in the spring is known for temperamental weather, and this weekend was no exception. In just two days of Fast CAT, we had bright sunshine, solid cloud cover, light rain, and even a half hour of a downpour. The rain made for some fun shots though:

My favorite part about being a Fast CAT photographer is getting to know the dogs and their humans. Since this was my first time photographing in New York, I got to meet over a hundred new dogs! I hope that I can photograph more Fast CATs around here soon because it’s so much fun forming relationships with the “regulars”, both canine and human.

Speaking of humans, my personal motto is “take more photos with your dog”, so let’s take a moment for the dog/human relationships photos. Dogs and their humans interacting are some of my favorite moments to capture at any dog sporting event.

As always, I got some really fun shots of dogs grabbing the bag in the Fast CAT catch pen. These are always some of my favorite Fast CAT photos because they are so dynamic and really capture the dog’s personality and enthusiasm!

This was a fantastic first East Coast event and I am so grateful to DOTCORNY for having me! I hope to photograph many more events in New York and along the East Coast in the coming years.
