Fast CAT Photography: Scottsbluff Kennel Club (Scottsbluff, NE)

The Scottsbluff Kennel Club Fast CAT was my first Fast CAT event of 2024 and it did not disappoint! This was also my first time photographing at a Harmony Dog Sports event. I was very impressed with the Harmony team’s efficiency! Whether they were releasing dogs, getting upcoming dogs lined up, or navigating paperwork, they were on top of it.

The weather was typical of March in the West: totally unpredictable. There were moments of sun, rain, and even snow within the three days of the trial. While it was a bit cold sometimes, it was worth it for the photos. Bad weather makes for cool photos, and the dogs threw mud like crazy during this event:

Now that I live in New York, I travel for a lot of my events. Photographing the Scottsbluff event was definitely worth the trip, however. It was great to see some Fast CAT regulars that I hadn’t seen in a few months:

Let’s take a moment to appreciate the bag grab photos. These are always my favorite Fast CAT shots because they really show the dog’s enthusiasm!

This was the first event I tried release photos and I will definitely be adding a day of release photos to other events in the future! I think these photos really showcase the dogs’ power, intensity, and drive.
